Full name:  Sally Singleton Swanson

Position:  Weekday School Director

Born where and when:  Greenville, NC on July 9

Family Facts:  I am married to Gary, and we have two children, Michael and Sarah.  Michael attends Appalachian State, and Sarah is a student at South Mecklenburg High School.

Education:  B.S. from UNC-CH, 1978.

How I became a Christian:  I grew up in the church at St. James United Methodist in Greenville and was very active in MYF there.  One year, the church sponsored a young adult singing group that visited our church, and through the fellowship and the music, felt the call to deepen my faith.

How I ended up at Sharon:  We were a Weekday School family first, and were so warmly welcomed, we joined!

The most important thing I do around here is:   Love the children for who they are.

Music:  Jimmy Buffett, rock ‘n’ roll

Movie:  Gone with the Wind

TV show:  CSI (the original), Lost

Food:  Pasta, chocolate

Place to vacation:  Beach

Place to eat:  No current favorite

How I spend my free time:  reading, knitting

Prized possession:  Program from the premiere of Gone with the Wind

My vision for the future of Sharon Church is:  For the members to continue to grow with love for one another.
