9/17 to 9/19--Camp Tekoa Weekend: You're invited for fun and fellowship at Camp Tekoa in Hendersonville, NC. We're heading to the mountains a little earlier this year and wil be sharing the camp with Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome--singles, couples and families. Come for all or part of the weekend, but come and have fun! Crafts, the lake, hiking, sports, relaxing on the porch . . . are you ready to go? Contact Debby Coles for more information or to register.
Various days, 9/18 to 11/6--Habitat for Humanity: Help Sharon build a Habitat home this fall at 3000 Amay James Avenue through Center City Church Partners, a group of 11 churches. Framing begins 9/18 at 8:00 am, and the last date of our participation is 11/6. No skills needed--just a desire to serve and an interest in building community! Wednesday, 9/29 @ 5:45 pm--Wonderful Wednesday Fellowship Meal: Buck invites us all to enjoy Blue Ribbon Special Surprise, with baked potato, steamed broccoli, tossed salad, dessert and beverages. Adults are $4, children ages 6-12 are $2, and children under 6 are free. Funds available after expenses are donated to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund. Reservations due to the church office by Monday, 9/27 at 10:00 am.
Saturday, 10/2 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm--Neighborhood Block Party: Join us for the 3rd annual Neighborhood Block Party. All activities are free, including moon bounce, pony rides, carnival games, book walk, clowns, chili cook-off, music, and more. Fun for all ages! Hot dogs, chili dogs, Frito pies, drinks and desserts will be available at no charge.
Saturday, 10/16 @ 4:30 pm--Fall Hayride and Cookout: Hayride, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, hot dogs and s'mores! You're invited to the Hunter Farm in Weddington for some fall fun. $5.50 per person.
Monday, 10/25 @ 7:30 pm--"Peace, Hope, and Joy:" Dave Sanderson, one of the survivors of the "Landing on the Hudson" will be our guest speaker. Admission is free. Sponsored by the Charlotte District Board of Laity.
