ENGAGE: verb; to carry out or participate in an activity; to be involved in. John 4:23 “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must ENGAGE your spirit in the pursuit of truth.” (The Message) We are serious about reaching out to our community, and on a quarterly basis we go out on a “Lift Project.” Our intention is to Lift Up our community by serving them in a tangible way. We intend to touch people with the Love of Christ by serving them in some unexpected way. We do it through passing out water at summer events around our area, giving out carnations to moms at shopping centers and local restaurants on Mother’s Day, or whatever idea we can dream up or borrow from someone else. Our purpose is to go out and share His love and to Lift Up our community in a positive way. 2009-2010 LIFT Projects September 19 – Church-wide Block Party – Let us join our church in throwing one huge party for our SouthPark community as we serve them by volunteering to help with the games and whereever we are needed! Call Richard to find your place to serve! November 23-26 - Thanksgiving Weekend we will be partnering with the organizers of the the 21st Annual Turkey Trot Run in SouthPark. Our goal is to reach out to our community and live out the love of Christ as we volunteer our time and energy in getting ready for the "big race" on Thanksgiving Day. There will be a variety of ways for you to serve several nights that week. Plus, we will have at least one Random Act of Kindness project that will be in partnership with our serving on this project. What an opportunity to serve our community! December 24 – Donut Giveaway! What would Christmas be like without Donuts? Come help us spread the joy as our church hands out donuts by the dozen to folks who are working and serving us on the eve of one of our most important of celebrations in the Christian faith! May – Mother's Day Flower Giveaway – It is another opportunity to share the love of Christ! This time it is to moms in the SouthPark area. Last year we gave out more flowers in less time! This year we are going for broke! We are going to pass out 500 carnations in an hour or less. Join us as we let our SouthPark moms know that they are loved and cared for by us and by Jesus. |
